Mr. Buer has worked within the horseracing industry in different positions since he started at his local racetrack in Drammen, Norway as a “runner” with results lists as a 10 year old.
Between 1982 and 2010 he was the managing director and also worked as a TV-journalist for a TV-company that among other sports produced all horseracing events in Norway.
From 2010 to 2016 he continued his work as a TV-producer and journalist.
In April 2016 he was elected President of the Norwegian Trotting Association. He moved to the position as the Secretary General in November 2016.
He has in his period of Presidency and in his administrative position prioritized the work with Equine Health and Integrity, and Norway is among the countries that leads the way in this work.
